A.R. Thompson was brought up in France to a Scottish father and Austrian mother. Following a degree in English Literature at the University of the West of England, he began to write for avant-garde performance artists the Parlour Collective for pieces made in the UK and Norway. Strongly influenced by the visual vocabulary of independent cinema, both surrealistic and realistic motifs puncture his prose and poetry, informed by fluency in both French and English. A.R. Thompson lives and works in Edinburgh.
